The bag has a front zipper pocket that is the size of the entire bag, and there is an interior pocket as well. It measures roughly 8 1/2" x 11" and hits right at the hip. It also closes with a magnetic snap. Pretty good size for carrying your essentials, and not having a heavy purse on your shoulder. I think that it will be a particularly good size for walking around theme parks or doing touristy things.

Petite Hip Bag - New Design!
I'm currently working out the kinks in a new bag pattern that I whipped up, so here are a few of my test versions. Really, the only thing that I keep changing is the width of the bag, and the width of the strap, but I think the Peter Pan version is pretty close to perfect.

Cruella.
I had so much fun with this! Browsing Polyvore is so much fun, but I thought I'd make it a little more interesting and try to re-create the outfits of some of my favorite Disney villains. First up, Cruella! I have to admit that I felt a little guilty looking up fur coats and bags ( poor foxes! ), but Cruella's tastes are what they are, and she wouldn't settle for anything less.I also enjoyed picking outrageously expensive garments because, well, she can afford it!

All the Dwarves have tea.
The weather has been sooo incredible lately, so I'm constantly feeling the need to get out of the house and DO something. Today that happened to be heading downtown for an iced mocha and cream cheese brownie and browsing through one of the many antique stores in the area. I only found one thing ( in the bathroom, no less) but it is SUCH a thing...I love it.
It's a Reutter porcelain Disney tea set from, I'm guessing the early to mid 90s. I can't find it anywhere online but it's way cool. I'm such a child of Disney, it's ridiculous.

Thrift Haul - Happy and Sneezy...
Today's thrifting adventure brought me quite a bit of Disney! There were way more Disney VHS to choose from, but the majority of them were severely discolored, chipped, cracked, and not so fresh. Oh, and the two Robin Hood movies have different labels (one printed on, the other a paper label) so that's the reason for that. Growing up, I didn't have the Disney movies (save for Fantasia, which I don't really count) so I am making up for my childhood, one movie at a time. Thankfully, these were only a dollar a piece so it's a cheap collection.
Apart from the movies, I found a couple vintage (early 70s?) Disney squeaky toys in the form of Happy and Sneezy! They're in really good condition, aside from a paint scuff on Sneezys foot. They'll make an excellent addition to my vinyl collection, which is growing pretty fast. Plus, they were 99 cents each. So...win.

Exploring...
Yesterday was such a beautiful day that we thought a Sunday drive was in order. We're very lucky to live in such a pretty area where there are deer in the yard at any given time and a random car ride can take you anywhere...including a vacant house with some interesting 'inhabitants'.

Thrift Haul - February 2012
The beginning of 2012 was pretty crazy for me, and didn't leave much (or any) time for sewing. However, I did manage to squeeze in some thrift/vintage shopping and I found some pretty nifty things!
This pattern for a 50's evening dress is gooorgeous. It was buried in an enormous box filled with bad 80s patterns, but I dug it out!
How cool are these?! Little cocktail forks from Disneyland and an enormously colorful box? Amazing.
These vintage Disney sheets are pretty awesome in a patriotic way.
Spiderman curtain panel from 1977.
It's always so great when you find something amazing among a pile of crap. :)

Thrift Haul - 11/16/2011
Trying to type this with a kitty draped halfway across my laptop. Why is it that they are coziest in the most inconvenient places?
Spent the morning in various thrift stores. I only found a few things, but I love them!
- The doll is much more adorable in person. So colorful! I'm totally smitten. $1.50
- Rainbow Brite sheets. I've gotten lucky and found a couple of these in local shops. $1.00
- Four vintage patterns. Only 10 cents each!
