Today...

Saw this monstrosity in the Walmart parking lot. Yeah...you bad...

Found this perfect cup that is totally me. Anyone else have this problem?

Drank some lovely tea in a perfect teacup that I found at a thrift shop.

Finally took a picture I like to show off my new bangs. I can't decide if they make me look more chic or like a 5 year old. :)

Back in the day...

Yesterday, Phillip and I went through a bunch of cds with old pictures on them. It is amazing how much you can change in only a couple years! It's almost as if I'm looking at a completely different girl, but I can't really put my finger on what the differences are. They're just...there. It's also crazy how scewed our perseptions of ourselves are. At the time I was so so self consious, but looking back I have to think Damn Girl! You didn't look half bad! I wasted so much time worrying.

What we do every day, no matter how insignificant, shapes us and makes us who we are. What you wear, where you go, how you treat the people you meet...everything matters. Which is why I think we should try to love every day. Yeah, it won't always happen. Sometimes life just sucks. But for the most part, we should try to make every day amazing.

And you know what's amazing?

My new business cards!

It totally is...

Yes, I know. I don't have any clothing in the shop yet...but it's coming. I've been playing around with the serger and I think I've finally got the hang of it.

Me = stoked.

Vintage Finds - Pirate Apron

I want to start introducing new things into the shop, especially lovely vintage things. I always come across awesome things that I just cant justify buying. So now I'll be able to pass them on to you! Like this apron! It's amazingly piratey, and just so damn cool. How great would it be for entertaining!

Thrift Haul - 07/21/09

So guess what...

My serger came in the mail! It was very badly packed, but it works and is beautiful. I've learned to thread it by memory (it only took a couple times), and am very excited to get to sewing! I picked up some cute fabrics and fun tees to mess around with, so look for those in the shop sometime in the next couple of weeks. I've been really burnt out on sewing lately, and I'm finally getting excited about it again. Which is wonderful, because I really do love to create things.

What else...oh! We went thrifting again yesterday. I didn't find too much, but was enormously pleased with this...

Mr. Ghost.

Weird moment.

So last night I was organizing my shoes and jewelry, putting everything away and in its place. I had taken all the charms off the chains they were on and put them in a little pile in the corner of my jewelry box, closed the box and went to bed.

This morning, I go to open my jewelry box and my favorite charm is back, fastened on the chain. Not even the chain I usually wear it with! Plus, to even put this charm on the chain it was on, you have to get a pair of pliers and lock the jumpring over it. I asked boyfriend if he had put it back on, and he hadn't. So, thank you Mr. Ghost or whoever did it, I now have a lovely necklace to wear!

Still kind of weirded out though.

Addicted.

Phillidalphia roll and Shrimp Tempura sushi.

It's getting serious people. I can't seem to go 2 days without thoughts of Philly rolls, Shrimp Tempura rolls, or those delicious crab and cream cheese rangoons. To think that only a couple years ago I scoffed at the notion. How good could it be?

Pretty damn good.

And because constantly going out for sushi can burn a substantial hole in ones wallet, Boyfriend and I have decided to make our own. We tried making Philly rolls a couple weeks back, and although they tasted quite yummy...the presentation was, shall we say, lacking. So I will practice, practice, practice! And then I can have a sushi party and impress all my friends.

What's your favorite kind of sushi?
