Hook me up.

I'm not sure if anyone here is into Hook-Ups Skateboard Decks, but just in case anyone is... I've got one listed on ebay! It's new and has only been used for display purposes. I really love them (I've got another rare one waiting in the wings for it's turn), but that serger is calling my name! Just thought I'd let you know. The link to the listing is here.

Nothing's really been going on here lately. A few friends and I saw Transformers at the drive in a couple days ago. Special effects were amazing, as always, but some of the acting *cough* Megan Fox *cough* left something to be desired. Ain't that always the way?

We're also heading to Charlotte on Wednesday so boyfriend can get started on his half sleeve. He's very excited, and I'm very jealous! I'm not sure how long he's going to sit, but the artist cleared the entire day so we might be there a while. I might stop by Best Buy and pick up Chrono Trigger for DS to help pass the time. It should be fun!

Painted Pandas

*edit* I made some changes and added some extras! This is a new picture.

I finished! My first pair of comissioned shoes, and I think they turned out rather well. They were made for a girl I know who is OBSESSED with pandas, so I'm pretty sure these will win her over. They're simple...but cute. And I have so much fun making these! I'm already planning a ton of other designs, and can't wait for my next order!

Etsy Finds - Fairytale

Oh, the joys of Etsy! Here are some of my recent favorites, inspired by fairytales and all things fanciful.

Aren't these cute! Wouldn't this felted egg set of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves look great on a shelf or fireplace mantel? By AsherJasper.

I love book purses, and this Alice in Wonderland handbag is no exception! Look how well the handles go with the spine! 100% of the profits go to the sellers father, who is losing his home. Go help her out! By Spoonful ofchocolate.

Is your passport looking not so soecial? This Little Red passport cover is cute and practical! I especially love the combination of prints. By Noei.

Dad.

I love my dad. It's not easy letting your kid move across the country on a whim, but he's always supported me and always held me up. He's the best father I could ever ask for. I miss you!

Happy birthday and Fathers Day!

Haggle

A few of my shop items have ventured into the SALE catagory! Which is good for you, and possibly good for me! I hate having things lying around, and I really want these things to be in good homes. I'm taking best offers as well, so if there's something you see that you love, but its just a bit too much, contact me! I'm always willing to haggle a little. ;)

Why the rush for a deal? I will tell you! I'm getting some money together to buy myself a nice serger, so I can start making and selling all the wonderful clothes that I have in my head, and put to good use some more awesome fabric that has been in storage. I used to make clothing, but it just wasn't of the quality I wanted. Now that I have a few more years of experiance tucked away, I think its time to start up again. I will keep you updated. I'm very excited!

Tomorrow is going to be an exciting day ( or as exciting as my days ever get). A friend is letting us borrow his PS3 and rented the new Ghostbusters game, so I will have a week or so of ghost busting action! Some lounging by the pool, getting some sushi...a fantastic weekend.

I heart you.

I'm in love with this outfit. It's so sweet, but has that bit of edge that I like.

Killer Boots

Phillip and I went to the beauty salon today so he could have his hair done. It was quite entertaining seeing him in a leopard print smock and foil in his hair. :) This is what I wore. And that's a water bottle in my hand, cause I was thirsty! I had planned on wearing my studded belt as well, but it wasn't within easy reach. And, lets face it, Im pretty lazy.

Shirt - Old Navy (Pirates vs. Ninjas), thrifted
Skirt - Hello Kitty, thrifted
Leggings - Target
Boots - Demonia
Bag - Handmade

I've also made a couple new pillows for the shop! I've got TONS more coming, all made from reconstructed and thrifted tees. Tell me what you think!

Scottish Festival

Wonderful bagpipers. The Mr. commented on how they "need to find a differant tune." :)

Today I went to the Blairsville Scottish Festival and Highland Games! My dad and I used to go every year in Washington when I was a kid, but I haven't been in a long time. It was so much fun! We got there at about 10:00, and it was already ridiculously hot. Wandered around a bit, bought some shortbread, stopped at the Clan Cameron tent, then sat down to watch the Games. More specifically, the caber tossing which never ceases to amaze me. They're throwing TREES for crissake, and wearing what people would like to call skirts while doing it.

Scots are badass.

Me and Phillip, cooling off in the shade. Im shocked my face isnt covered in sweat.

Giant cow ass. Phillip was embarassed when I stopped to take this picture. ;)

I can't wait for next year!

Painted Lady

I've ventured into the realm of painted shoes...and it's really addicting. It combines my love of art, fashion, and making thrifted things newly awesome. My first pair is up on Etsy right now, this lovely pinup inspired number, all decorated with lovely cherries. They're painted with acrylics and triple sealed to make them water and dirt resistant! Which is awesome. Because who wants dirty, runny cherries? Exactly. No one.

These ones are a pair of 4" pumps by Fredericks of Hollywood, in really really good condition. I was shocked to find them, actually. Theyre also a size 10 and in my etsy shop, ready for the taking!

Thrift Haul - 06/08/2009

Here are a couple pretty things that I've treated myself to this week!

I love these Ice Cream bowls. They're so adorable! I swear, I keep finding cute treat themed kitchen items, it's like the universe wants me to have a kitchen so themed. I got this set of 4 at Goodwill for $2.50. Can't beat that!

Next, these super awesome red pumps by Fredericks of Hollywood. The picture isn't that great, but they're bright red and in really great condition! They're a smidgen too tight, so you may see them for sale soon, but at $4.00 I'm not complaining.

Last, we have this little item. Not found thrifting (don't I wish), but on the pages of dear old Etsy! It's a new print and quite pricey, but how cute!!! I couldn't resist, and since I've had a very good week of sales I thought I'd treat myself. I think I'll save it for something special, but if you have an idea for something you'd like made of it, I'd be happy to cut into it. :)

On an Etsy related note, I've listed a TON of vintage patterns on my destash site, MamaImStrange . There's swimwear, skirts, children's clothing, tons of really cute stuff. I've got more to list, so check back throughout the week. I'll be listing new fabrics as well.
