Snow day.

Well, I can't get out of my driveway to get to work, so I'll spend some time taking pictures and preparing for my sister's visit. Which I am SUPER pumped about. I've spent the last 3 Christmases without any of my family, so it goes without saying that I am way excited about this one. Hopefully the roads will be okay by tomorrow and I'll be able to get on down to Atlanta to pick her up.

Holly and Pine.

Rediscovering the beauty outside my door. I didn't even know I HAD a Holly plant in the yard (forest), but it was such a great surprise! :)

Shop Review - ShoriAmeshiko

When I was looking for a Halloween costume and decided on being a Moogle, this shop was the first one I came across! ShoriAmeshikomakes really cute and Japanese inspired apparel, plushies, and fanart hats. This is what I ordered.

How adorable, right?

I officially love this hoodie. It's very well made, all the seams are neatly serged, no loose threads, and it has a nice big hood (a huge plus). The only qualms I had was the sizing, and the shortness of the hoodie. The size of the hoodie was exact to the measurements she had on her website, I just mistakenly got the medium instead of a small, because I'm never a small. lol. But luckily, I have sewing skills so that wasn't a problem at all!

The hoodie was well priced and even came with a cute moogle keychain. Customer service was good, her responses were prompt. I really recommend this seller!

Doll Face.

A little bit inspired by Amber Rose of Laughing with Broken Eyes, I decided to 'doll' myself up for some fabric and thrift shopping. Although my painted cheeks aren't as bold as they could be, I think they got the point across in a cute way. I very much like this look!

Halloween photo dump

A small photo dump from Halloween and the night before! Enjoy!

Kayla, my most awesome friend, in a super creative costume!

 Downtown Blue Ridge, GA.

Love, love this shot.

Some people are so very lazy. Luckily some of them will put forth the effort to try and cover up their fails. Even if that, too, is a fail.

Super moldy pumpkin, yo!

Another photo from downtown. Super. Creepy.

Thanks for awesome friends to spend holidays with!

Camouflage.

Observation : If you look at the word 'camouflage' long enough, it ceases to be a word. In fact, it doesn't make sense at all and almost seems like a kind of mucus. Which is another weird word.

Anyway.

Obviously, this is a very fall inspired outfit. I found this cardigan for a dollar at a local thrift store, and although mustard isn't a color (or a condiment) that I usually go for, I snatched it up. But I actually really like it! To stop the outfit from being to overwhelmingly coordinated, I threw in these bright blue tights. The beanie I got in a craftster fall swap last year, and I love love love it! I might contact the girl again to make me some more in turquoise, forest green, and...mustard *gasp*. This could be a new obsession...

I look certifiably insane in this picture. lol

Wielding a knife...

Pumpkin picking and carving are a couple of my favorite fall pastimes. And as long as there are pumpkins for sale, you can bet that I'll be taking advantage of all the seasonal fun that these vegetables offer. Here's a little photo dump of our pumpkin-tastic afternoon.

Fable and Fury

Fable and Fury  is a shop that I found on Etsy last year, but never bought anything from. They stayed on my favorites list, and a few days ago I broke down and bought one of their necklaces. I don't know why I waited so long! Their prices are good, the designs are so unique, and the quality is top notch.

This is officially my new favorite necklace! It has a really nice weight to it, and I love how crisp and clean the lines are in the design. So so perfect for fall, it's ridiculous. Anyway, I was just really happy with it so I thought I would share the love. So go check it out!

Waiting for the leaves to change...

Fall is finally, and officially here! I celebrated with a velvet blazer (which I jumped the gun with, it was still 90 degrees today), and some autumn inspired eyeshadow. I much prefer tall boots over sandals, and cardigans over tank tops so this season has been much anticipated. Love it!

Stripes.

This is perhaps the shortest skirt I have ever worn. (That's excluding those micro-mini tutus that I wore when I was in ballet) But I think this is going to be a staple outfit for fall. Short dress, colorful tights, and boots. I'm currently on a hunt for some epic knee high boots (so send me some links if you have any recommendations).

Today was fun! We went on a car ride to nowhere, took some photos, and are now watching season 6 of LOST. We've been watching this show nonstop for the past month, and now we're to the end! I dont think I would have lasted this long watching it on T.V. lol. But on dvd, it's like one long movie.

Etsy Finds - by the seashore

Lately I've had the strongest urge to go to the beach. Sadly for me, the nearest beach is far enough away that it would take serious effort to get there...and quite frankly I've gone through all of today's motivation. However! I found some lovely seaside items on Etsy that fit the bill quite nicely. Take a gander!

This too pretty, pink shell necklace from  Seashell Collection. Sweet, simple, and elegant. And only $22! How awesome is that!

Such a classy fellow! Hang this well dressed bird on your wall and wait for the compliments to roll in! From berkleyillustration.

Look at this sweet pouch! Totally rad, dude. Sewn by maikoyoshihara.

A walrus for the betterment of mankind. Or at least children. For some reason, I think this walrus would teach some sort of history class...with a monocle. By kngo!

Which item is your favorite? What's your favorite beach to visit?

Secret stash.

Every once in a while, we get a customer that really takes the cake.

Such as the one last October, who didn’t know that potatoes grew underground. Or the lady last week who was insistent that we couldn’t have grown our peaches because they were just too good.

Yesterday, an older lady came in inquiring about Golden Delicious apples.

I told her that it wasn’t time for them yet, it would be a couple months. We’re in peach season right now.

“ You mean you don’t have ANY? This is an apple orchard, isn’t it? How can you not have any apples?”

“I’m sorry, ma’am. There just aren’t any. You’re too early.”

“So you’re absolutely sure you don’t have any Golden Delicious?”

She goes on to tell me about a cake that she’s making for a friend, how she NEEDS these apples. Maybe if she repeats this story enough, with enough emphasis on the word ‘need’ I’ll magically produce a bushel of apples just for her.

Sometimes I think customers believe there’s a secret stash of apples somewhere in the building. A giant pile of fruit that we only dole out to certain customers. I can assure you, there is no such thing.

The woman huffed and told me that she will try Walmart instead because they never seem to run out of apples.

You do that. Let me know how that goes.

On second thought…don’t.

Alice's Sewing Basket

I love threadless.com. I've bought from them many times, but never for myself! Which is ridiculous, as I love all their shirts. So, when I saw that they had a $10 shirt sale going on, I snagged this one. It's called Alice's Sewing Basket . Cute animals as sewing tools? Yes, please.

Pook-A-Looz Fever

I have something very cute to share with you. Extremely cute. Maybe...dare I say it...too cute.

They're Pook-a-looz! A new(ish) Disney plush toy, featuring all your favorite characters from Buzz Lightyear to Jack Skellington. I can already tell this is going to become a new obsession collection.

You can purchase them at Toys-R-Us and Amazon.com, as well as at Disney's online store.

The Disney store was having a 2 for $20 deal, so I snatched up Oogie Boogie and Santa Jack. Oogie even has a little spider escaping a seam on his back. CUTE!

Here are a couple other characters that I can't wait to get my hands on.
